YOGA
In Sanskrit yoga means union, this is a modality integrating mind, body and energy. Practicing yoga is a means of staying present in the body, it is a moving meditation. Practicing yoga reduces inflammation, builds strength and increases flexibility and balance. During an active, yang practice, the focus is on learning how to sit with discomfort and cultivate resilience in response to stress in the body and mind. Yin and restorative practices are focused on tapping into the parasympathetic nervous system through long holds and slow, deep breaths.
